After a morning exploring Nimpkish lake, and wondering where the apparent Wind surfing beach was (very overgrown and covered in driftwood), I set up off to Telegraph cove. This is a small little community with a much more touristy vibe than other places, backed-up by the entrance sign which said “Telegraph Cove Resort”.
It was a nice place to walk around and enjoy the small wooden buildings surrounding the cove, but with day tours to sea whales and grizzly’s costing between $160 to $450, it’s certainly not the cheapest place. In an opposite staregty to the tours, I went off to find free accommodation at a recreational site on the shore of Lake Ida, about 11km down a logging road which proved worthwhile. Being the only person camping on lake Ida it was a serene moment.
