This is a special little island, and one I’m glad I made the trip. I’t sonly a short ferry journey from Port McNeil Home to the Namgis First Nations People, you can see several totem poles dotted around the island. The ‘Big House’ can be used for ceremonial events. If fortunate enough, you may be there the same day as a ceremony and it’s worth the visit if you can join. Dances passed down through generations, if with a different connection to aspects of the lives of the Namgis people. The ecological centre is also a must, a beautiful collection of trees and dramatic views as you walk along the boardwalk.
